Dear Captain. I know you must get many, many emails and questions from your site, and I hate to bother you but is there any possibility of a tour in Australia?? There are some Captain fans down here as well!
Felix, Perth, Australia
Ditto the above. Cheers Felix. |

Hi Captain. I have noticed that the writing is tiny on your website and I am squinting at it even with perfect eyesight. My question is..are you trying to give us all eye strain? I reckon most of your fans would be around my age or older (39) and you may inadvertantly cause an epidemic of eye problems and overload for the poor opthlamologists. Love the site tho'

Is it any better now? We've increased the font size a tad. |

Hi Capt. There has been a bit of a debate over on the official Damneds forum, about your involvment (If any) In the Nazz Nomad project. So please spill the beans. Did you appear on their 1984 Lp Give daddy the knife cindy? or ever live on stage, or any other involvment?

P.S. Really enjoyed the rereleased Women & capts first/Power of love. Top stuff.
Like my colleagues I was knocked out by the Nuggets garage punk compilations when they were released in the early 80s but didn't participate on 'Give Daddy The Knife Cindy' owing to being maga busy with my dubious (but lucrative at the time) solo career. It's a cracking album though, whoever did actually record it........ |

Dear Cap'n, I just purchased the 1st 2 albums from Cherry Red complete with extra tracks..... BUT Some extra tracks missing, I believe..... Russians Are Coming & Our Soles To You (from the Crass EP), Relax (from One Christmas Catalogue EP, 12 inch) and 4 Mary's Go Go (B side from Snakes & Ladders 12 inch?) Why are they missing?
Some belong to the Crass people, Relax was a joke that doesn't stand the test of time and I wish I'd never let Tony Mansfield persuade me to record and 'Four Marys' isn't the greatest song Ive ever written. |

Hello Captain, fantastic listening to the the two reissue sols CD's again. They are of a certain time doncha think, but great listening to Strawberry Dross and Damned on 45 again! There are still many b sides/collaborations yet to see a release on CD. Any plans to release them... perhaps a nice Cherry Red type could investigate?
Gary, Durham
An album of oddities might prove popular it seems..... Cheers Gary. |

Hey Cap, you're a legend. Where can I get a copy of Graveyard Smashes, I've been looking for ages but can't get one anywhere. Thanks for all the music.
Joolsie Egg
I think you'll be extremely lucky to find that particular album that we knocked out in a fun afternoon at Foel Studio in Welsh Wales.... find somebody who has one maybe and copy it would seem to be your only option I'm afraid Joolsie.

Dear Captain: What do you think of this American Idol craze where talent is judged on your karaoke skills, being under the age of 28, and copying Mariah Carey's singing style? I think it is ridiculous that today's youth is brainwashed to accept this drivel as music, when real music to me was the Damned, the Jam, Cat Stevens, the Smiths, and countless other wonderful bands of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Totally agree, if Jimi Hendrix turned up for an audition they'd throw him straight out if the door with the guitar arriving in the gutter shortly after him.
Personally, I dont watch TV - there's very little good music to be found on there and more importantly the severe doses of propaganda you are subjected to every time you turn the darned thing on amounts to mind control in the comfort of your own living room in my humble estimation.
You want music - go to a gig. You want news - take a selective trawl around the web.
If you're interested here's a few sites I frequent occasionally - although I have to say I don't necessarily subscribe to all the points of view on display. That's the thing about the internet..... You have all points of view reflected out there - you have to make your own mind up who to believe.
Generally though, you will find info in these websites that you are unlikely to hear about in the likes of the Daily Mail or any of Rupert Murdoch's appalling rags which only ever contain one particular point of view - corporate neo-con scare mongering cobblers.
